Wow, I really want to get a job here. Honestly though, the studio seems so professional and so so inspiring. All of their works screamed creativity, imagination and knowledge. This guys collaborated with some of the biggest companies in every industry you can think of: game, car, museums and so on. The presentation was really nice and I really liked the vibe of the studio, the sun terrace, the kitchen, the dog 🙂 Very valuable studio visit!

Thoughts about Marco – Studio Visit – Darko
Todays studio visit was very enjoyable for me. As a big nature lover, I really resonated with the artist and his works. First of all I was fascinated by the artists persona and way of thinking. He was very chill, well articulated and at the same time very knowledgeable. At the same time I like how even though he is a musician, he loves science and keeps on discovering and learning more and more every single day. His projects were also very very interesting. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the monkeys projects, something sparked in me when I saw the project and it will definately serve as inspiration later on.
Thoughts about Robert – Darko
I came into this visit without any expectations and was actually blown away. Even though Robert was a quiet guys, his work was SCREAMING creativity and skill. I was really impressed with the short films that he made and how they blended from 2d to 3d. I was actually very happy to learn about the software he uses for these presentations and at the same time surprised to see his works on different buildings across the US. I like how he is an adaptor of the new AI technologies and continues to put himself and his style in his work. Excited for his upcoming works!
Thoughts about Field (studio visit) – Darko
This was our first studio visit of this class and I really enjoyed it. Overall the studio was very nice, I really wish they walked us through the whole thing so we can see how the creative process actually comes from an idea to a final product, how the workspace looks like for different members of the team and so on. I feel like their presentation was pretty straightforward and was amazed by the companies they worked with. They seem like a pretty big studio compared to the artists that we have seen so far (don’t mean to discriminate, just looking at the overall situation). I really liked their projects, and even though I had weird first thoughts about the BMW project, it really grew on me as I kept looking at it and the overall concept. I really like that they put a part of themselves into the projects and also enjoy food and travels!
Fears about others – Darko Skulikj
The way these readings have been structured really grew on me. Especially in this Art and Fear book where the readings are divided into smaller headings. Well in todays reading we are talking about how the artist feels about others when doing his work. The three topics discussed are understanding, acceptance and approval. The first fear comes out when the artists fails to believe he would be understood by the wider audience. We as people like to be understood and the artist is not an exception in this case. As the reading says it is a basic need of people. On the other side we have acceptance and approval, whilst both words seem similar acceptance means that people accept/recognize our work while approval means that people like it. But people don’t have to like our work in order for us to do our best and continue working on what we want. For example some of our guests dizzle and dabble in experimental music, and that’s far away from what I like. That does not mean that I don’t recognize their passion and approve of their work 🙂
Train Tumble – Darko Skulikj
So I used the random word generator to find two random words and make something out of it. I really wanted to challenge myself and only ran the program two times and it gave me the words Train and Tumble. Now this would be my third time making a soundscape or in this case a song but I really want to challenge myself in this area so I opened up audacity, worked up some quick lyrics and here we are.
The lyrics:
Grind On the Tracks
Verse 1:
Strapped up, ready to tackle
Hustle on the train, no time to dawdle
**** with me, you’ll catch the rattle
My grind unstoppable, like a rolling paddle
Chorus:
Grind on the tracks, never stumble
Tumble through the hustle, never crumble
**** the haters, stay humble
Grind on the tracks, yeah, we hustle and rumble
I cannot sing so I decided to use a text to speech generator and worked out a beat for the background. In the end it all came down to this:
Fears about yourself – Darko Skulikj
I believe this reading was one of the most valuable we’ve had yet and that is for certain reasons. Firstly, the pylosophie of the reading can not only be applied in the process of art and artmaking but also everywhere in life. Let me show you how:
The reading delves right into the concepts of fear, pretending, talent, perfection, annhiliation and magic. While they all seem to be very different from each other, they all combine to delve right into the human psychology of any process in the human life. No matter if you are a painter, swimmer, computer scientist or whatsoever, these concepts will always be engraved deep into your mind. The one thing we cannot let them do is overpower our thoughts and take over, fear is a very good thing but too much fear is destructible for a person. Talent, yes, some people are gifted with all these talents but if they don’t keep working on them, these talents will play no role in shaping their future. Perfection, always strive for it but deep down know that you are not going to reach it, there is no such thing as perfection, no one is perfect but if you reach for the stars and you fail, at least you are going to fall on a cloud.
My point is, use fear to your advantage and don’t see fear as an enemy but and accomplice.
Stay Safe!
