Recreate Nilreb-Final-Jun.7.Linda
This shared map translates intangible experiences, feelings, and encounters into physical space. It compiles some of my thoughts on class visits, lateral thinking, and general impressions of Berlin and then projects them on small pins on the map. You are welcome to add your own pin here.
Maps have played a crucial role in shaping my experiences. The convenience of a reliable mapping system allows me to navigate like a local, knowing exactly where to turn right, turn left, when to get off the train, and where to go after class.

Artist thought – Flora Fauna
Very clear niche that is extensively explored upon. It’s interesting that they focused a lot on the emotions of the people who viewed the exhibits, so we got to see both how the artists feel and how the audience (‘outsiders’) feel. The stage performance part is interesting since they are the only artist we have that work with stage production, so it’s cool to hear about unique difficulties. Kinda cool that we have 2 artists in a row that has done something related to ‘life’: Marco with the larger biodiversity and sustainability, and Flora Fauna with human emotions and lives.
Final
I made a little scrapbook of my j term experience in Berlin 🙂

thoughts on flora fauna
- It was very welcoming. The guy did a good job presenting.
- The dog kept licking my shoes
- Their work was cool, but personally nothing I really connect to.
- also I liked that he doest view his “competitors” as enemies but people that are into the same thing, working in different companies.
June 7-Final Project – Mariam
From Awkward Stars to Artistic Hearts is a collection of poems I wrote during our “Creating” J-Term class. Each poem is about something we did or learned that day – like when we heard from creative thinkers, did weird artistic exercises or met visiting artists. Instead of just writing what happened, I turned it all into poems. That way, I could capture the creative energy and meaningful moments in a unique way. The poems are about profound insights, unexpected creative adventures, and personal artistic growth throughout the class. By making poems out of everything, this notebook became a special keepsake. It represents my journey of embracing an imaginative, open-minded spirit and having impactful conversations. These pages are more than just poems to me – they symbolize my journey of becoming a creator !

Thoughts on Flora Fauna
Flora Fauna was incredibly inspirational. The art they created really opened my eyes to the world of interactive media. I found myself deeply inspired by their work and vision. I want to follow in their footsteps and make a name for myself in the art world, just like they have.
thoughts about FFV
I liked their energy. their work is fascinating. liked their approach towards their projects. their space is also pretty cool. and most importantly, loved the dog.
Postcards from Berlin
for the past 6 months I’ve been collecting postcards from my travels around Europe so that I can save some of my favorite memories from the cities I’ve been to. After some brainstorming, I thought it would be cool to make some postcards from my memories in this class, but then I ran into some technical difficulties so I changed my project from postcards to stamps, after making stamps of all my favorite memories, i was still not satisfied with my outcome so I decided to go back to my original idea and make the postcards. now I had stamps so my postcards could be even better!
I put together some pictures for the postcards. each postcard is connected to the stamp on it, and has been addressed to a specific person. Majority of pictures are taken by me 🙂

Studio Reflection #3: flora & fauna visions
While I’m not super into theater and that entire world, I remember Ben mentioned that FFV uses trackers on the actors to influence the backdrop. I think that’s a really cool feature that can be implemented in more than just theater. Perhaps it could be used in sports like football for more explosive effects? I think I’ve seen something like this being implemented into a basketball court so who knows where this tech might show up next.
When it came to their immersive experiences, I really would have loved to see the Da VInci one, I believe it was called the Genius Immersive Experience, in person. I think the concept itself was really interesting but the execution looked like a good experience even through photos.
I found it pretty interesting that a partial measure of success for the team was that kids enjoyed the exhibition and left happily. I think that’s really important to me because I was a really bored kid all the time. Nothing my parents took me to would make me give the slightest bit of my attention. To hear kids enjoy this pretty cool thing without completely comprehending it must mean a lot.
I really applaud the studio’s ventures into their original IPs like Utopian Garden. I think their original works don’t lose to their stage performances and brandings at all from what they’ve shown.
It was overall a pretty good studio visit, I think Ben did a good job presenting everything to us even though he wasn’t the original and intended guide.
