Making 3

My two random words were “Lip” and “Society.” This piece is a visual exploration of how voices are perceived and utilized within society. This collage is a commentary on the diverse experiences of individuals within a society—how some voices are amplified and misused, others are stifled or ignored, and many remain unheard despite their silent cries.

  • The lips with tongues sticking out symbolize those in society who use their voices for negative or harmful purposes. Those who speak without regard for the consequences.
  • Some lips are depicted with fingers shushing them or are partially shown. These represent individuals who are forcibly silenced, either by societal pressures or direct suppression. Their voices are not just unheard but actively muted.
  • The images of lips that are closed and appear more opaque signify those in society who are suffering in silence. These are the individuals whose struggles go unnoticed.
