In The Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier model. Mentioned in The Graham Norton Show: Denzel Washington/Paul Mezcal/Sirsha Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). ). TLDR: Redmayne is on a roll. Lynch is the wrong choice. Unfortunately, the main roles are not on the same level as each other, which diminishes the impressive and high-quality production. No shade of Lynch, it’s just a high bar that Redmayne has set. A more experienced actor would probably have created a more believable doppelgänger/opponent needed to challenge the Jackal. Overall, the story is a viable adaptation. Character development works, although some things in the narrative of the main characters remain open, but it could be desirable. The locations, various interactions, and Redmayne’s use of languages and changing characters really add a special layer to the storyline. The cheat barometer is always on in the background. I’m looking forward to seeing how Se01 ends and how the quality is maintained or improved in Se02. Let’s hope that Lynch relieves the pressure and gives a more subtle game to try to meet Redmayne. If this happens, Se02 may prove to be very promising.
